Blackburn Run

The 2024 event is Sun 15th September

Leaving at 10.30am from the layby next to Petre Garage nr Whalley. BB6 8AB
No booking needed - just turn up on the day.

The Blackburn Run is the flagship event for the East Lancs Section. Since 1973 the East Lancs Section has been the custodian of the Blackburn Run which originated in 1913 as a road trial undertaken by members of the old Blackburn Motorcycle Club.

The run uses 95% of the original 1913 route. It is classed as a social event, with spectacular scenery and top motorcycling roads – all on tarmac but with some narrow and winding roads, ascents/descents and ‘twisty bits’ that challenge machine and rider without being daunting. We are keen to encourage the use of vintage or older machines on this event.

There is a morning coffee stop at Slaidburn and a lunch stop halfway round at Horton in Ribblesdale. The run is a ‘loop’ through spectacular scenery to the Ribbleshead viaduct followed by a return route through picturesque Cravendale and Ribblesdale villages to sign off at the start point in the late afternoon.
There are trophies for the oldest and the smallest machines to complete the event.

Entrants, who will be sure of a warm ‘northern’ welcome, should be paid-up members of the VMCC and riding/driving solo or combination motorcycles or three-wheelers older than 25 years.
